Panasonic GH4 Audio Issue Now Resolved.

I was hanging out on DVXuser and found out that Panasonic has figured out what the audio buzz issue is and will be fixing the cameras with no charge very soon. This is what the Panasonic rep said. “It is a relatively simple hardware modification to eliminate the buzz.” Thats good news! The Panasonic rep stated that you need to send your camera in to get the hardware fix but it should only take a day to perform. All you need to do is call the Texas service center to arrange for the service at 800-211-7262. I haven’t called yet to get mine fixed but I’ll do this first thing in the morning and report back. Nice job Panasonic! Here is the video I shot explaining the problem.

All new GH4 Cameras with Firmware Version 1.1 will have the fix already installed at the factory.

Terry Nixon from Texas Media Systems posted this information below on how to get the GH4 repaired.

In conjunction with our v1.1 GH4 firmware release, we will begin sharing the news today that we have a solution for the “audio buzz” issue that some people reported. This problem can occur when a non-Panasonic external microphone is used with GH4.It does not occur when the DMW-MS2 is used, or with the GH4′s internal microphone.

The customer will need to send their camera to our McAllen,TX repair facility where a modification will be done quickly. All units will be returned to the customer via 2nd Day shipping.

Any customer who contacts Panasonic about the “audio buzz” issue should be directed to contact Maria Alonzo whose contact info is provided below.

    Any news on audio buzz repair on EU? My case has been active almost a month in Finland and they just recommend me to purchase Panasonic microphones.
