C300 MKI gets Firmware Update 2.1.4.1.00

November 7, 20150 Comments

It’s been a while since we’ve seen an update for the original C300. It works great still and I’m glad to see Canon is keeping it up to date. This one is all about lenses and a fan speed. Yeah sexy right? To download go HERE. Canon didn’t make the info on the update clear so you have to open the WINDOWS version to read what the update is. I added that info below.

Here is whats in the update for C300’s with DPAF. It’s important to pick the right update.

If you don’t have the Dual Pixel AF choose the 1.1.4.1.00 update.

Firmware Version 2.1.4.1.00 incorporates the following improvements.

1. Enables control of CINE-SERVO lenses using the RC-V100 remote controller.

2. Enables peripheral illumination correction for the following lenses: EF lenses: EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM EF-S 10-18mm f/4-5.6 IS STM EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II USM EF 11-24mm f/4L USM EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM CINE-SERVO lens: CN7x17 KAS S/E1

3. When one of the following EF lenses is attached and power is turned off, the lens automatically retracts to its minimum length: EF 40mm f/2.8 STM EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM EF 50mm f/1.8 STM

4. Enables the user to change fan operating mode between On and Automatic.. When set to Automatic, the fan turns off during shooting at normal temperature. When the camera temperature rises, the fan starts automatically and lowers the temperature.

Note: Firmware Version 2.1.4.1.00 is only for EOS C300 cameras with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF Feature Upgrade applied. If the EOS C300 camera does not have Dual Pixel CMOS AF Feature Upgrade applied, please download Firmware Version 1.1.4.1.00. Firmware Version 2.1.4.1.00 is for cameras with Firmware Version 2.1.2.1.00 – 2.1.3.1.00. If your camera’s firmware is already version 2.1.4.1.00, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Once the camera is updated to the latest firmware version, it cannot be restored to a previous version. For further details, please refer to the latest version of the instruction manual for this product, which will be released at the same time as this firmware update.
