Canon EOS 70D SALE. $949.00

December 11, 20132 Comments

Canon 70DI dont post sales very often but this one is very good! Amazon has the Canon 70D for under $1000. Selling the body only for $949.00 with free shipping if you have a Prime account. This is very tempting. The Duel Pixel technology alone is very impressive I’m still on the fence if I’m going to get the upgrade to my C100, but seeing it in action with the 70D really makes you want it. Unfortunately it doesn’t work the same way as it does in the 70D. I wish it did. Check out this review from CVP on the Canon 70D and how well the Duel Pixel AF works.

I just might have to pull the trigger on this one. Don’t know how long it will last so get them while you can. Merry Christmas!

That’s a pretty sweat deal on the 70D. While I appreciate the thought Canon put into the sensor to pull-off what I would call class-leading autofocus, I’m disappointed in some tests I’ve seen online with bad moire’ and aliasing in the 70D. They seemed to make huge inroads with those issues in the 5D Mk III compared to older cameras, and is one of the main reasons I bought one. Granted, the footage is fairly soft coming out of that camera, but I find it’s a lot easier to sharpen footage than to remove moire’ and aliasing artifacts… darn near impossible on certain shots.

You are right. The 5D MKIII has a stronger OLPF filter to help with those issues. It also softens the image so sharpening in post is a must. Always some kind of trade offs with DSLR cameras that shoot video.
