The new 702 Bright model is well a daylight usable 7″ monitor with the same Page Builder OS features as the 500 series has. A featured packed super bright that has a 1000nit full HD 1920 x 1080 display. The software is pretty slick once you get used to how you want to use it. The new 702 has a optically bonded glass LCD screen with an anti reflective coating making using the monitor outdoors but better. If you’ve used a traditional monitor outside you know that it also works great as a mirror. The price isn’t bad either at $1499.00. The DP7-Pro High Bright is $2499. It is brighter at 1500nits but not full HD. If you want to compare them here is a link.

A new feature I like is the 702 can use both Canon style LP-E6 and Sony L series batteries without the need for adapters. Both ends of the battery holder have the connectors so just sick the the battery in either direction for the type you want to use. Brilliant! This model has both SDI and HDMI. I’m going to assume a HDMI version will be introduced at a later date since that happened with the 500 series.

Yes it’s loaded! I have the 502 and it’s a great monitor for smaller cameras since it’s light in weight and slim too. I don’t worry about mounting it to the hot shoe of a mirrorless or DSLR camera. I do want a 5″ high bright but I dont think it can withstand the heat that the screen would generate. Maybe someday. The 702 will be shipping in October.
