SmallHD Sidefinder Gets Upgrade to Prevent EVF from Opening When in Use

SmallHD Sidefinder Update Keeps the EVF Closed from Erik Naso on Vimeo.

Installing is super easy. Just take the metal 1/4 20 out and replace them with the plastic spring loaded clips. Done. Now that was easy and yes it works great!

SmallHD does listen to their customers and I’m happy to see them fix this issue. It was a drag when you use it and it opens up but it’s no longer an issue.

This quick and easy fix is available for free if you have a Sidefinder. Look for a email form SmallHD for info on getting the new clips. In the video I mention I have to snap it in, well after several open and closings the EVF clips lock the Sidefinder. No snapping required. I still can snap it in but again it locks the Sidefinder without having to do this.

Good to see that SmallHD addressed this issue. Would a single clip be strong enough if you want to retain one of the 1/4″x20 threaded holes?
