$350 Tangent “Ripple” Control Surface is Ready To Go

I’m not a full time colorist but I play one at work. Sounds familiar? We are all becoming one since so many cameras shoot Log now and to get the most out of these cameras we shoot the super flat image that requires color grading.

Color grading with a mouse isn’t easy and having the availability to purchase a affordable control surface has been greatly needed. I’m thrilled to see that Tangent is stepping up to help us with the new $350 Ripple Control Surface.

The Ripple will be compatible with most of the popular grading software like DaVinci Resolve.

The Ripple’s design is now final and they will be going into production for a late April/May release.

The good news is that we will be showing Ripple on our booth at NAB (SL5507) and on some of our partner’s booths, so you’ll be able try out the production model there if you’ll be in Vegas for the show.

It’s been a while since we’ve made any announcements about Ripple so we thought we’d post a quick update.

At IBC we showed working prototypes of the panel and we came away with a few suggestions that we thought it would be worth incorporating into the final product. These were: Increasing the size of the dials. Increasing the distance the gap between the ball and the dial. Making the “finger dimple” in the dial deeper. Adding some kind of “grip” to the edge of dial.
