FS5 Clear Image Zoom Test. I Love this Feature! Plus Slog3
I’m almost done shooting test shots with the FS5 for my review. I have two promos this week that I’m going to shoot with the FS5. Both are talent on camera so will have some skin tone to play with. Yippie!
Clear Image Zoom is one of the coolest features on alpha cameras like the a7s, a7s II and a7r II . I sure wish the FS7 had it as well. It works so good as you can see in this test. I focused on the candles wick and set the shot zoomed in. It doesn’t lose any detail or get ugly at all. Crazy Sony mojo going on here!
Also a little test for Slog3 and Cinema color. I don’t use Slog3 very often but since this was 10bit in HD I wanted to try it. I like the results using the Cinema color mode. Was very easy to grade and the noise wasn’t to bad. I did add Neat Video in FCPX to see how it would clean up and wow does it. The most noise was in the right bottom corner but after I graded the shot the noise disappears into the darkness.
Thats it for now. I’m going to try Face Detection with a Sony lens today and maybe some auto focus too. Now I want to play with color profiles. So much testing so little time. I think Sony wants to get their camera back 😀
Here are the last few Sony FS5 tests I did.
