C300 MKII & C100 MK II Firmware Updates Coming July 28th
Some nice updates for the C300 MKII namily Focus Magnification during recording. Don’t know why this wasn’t the case from the beginning but I know users wanted it pretty bad also a new gamma mode Canon Log3.
The updates are scheduled for July 28th 2016
Full update for the C300 MKII and C100 MKII is as follows.
EOS C300 Mark II Digital Cinema Camera
- Updates will allow various functions such as shooting in new Canon Log3
- Viewfinder magnification during recording
- Focus guide with EF Cinema Prime lenses
- Push Auto Iris and Zoom function on the grip joystick with New COMPACT-SERVO and CINE-SERVO series lenses
- Canon Dual Pixel CMOS AF (DAF) with COMPACT-SERVO 18-80mm and CINE-SERVO 17-120mm lenses
- ACES 1.0 output, peripheral illumination correction updates and overall image improvements such as noise level reduction in low-light for Canon Log2.
EOS C100 Mark II Digital Cinema Camera
- Update will allow various functions such as Push Auto Iris and Zoom function on the grip joystick with the new COMPACT-SERVO and CINE-SERVO series lenses
- Canon DAF with COMPACT-SERVO 18-80mm and CINE-SERVO 17-120mm lenses, and peripheral illumination correction updates and selectable disabling of the microphone.
Canon also has a few other updates coming for their DP-V2410 4K Reference Display and other cameras. Check out the website for a full list HERE

Hey Erik! Quick questions since you do a lot of testing with the various canon EOS C line of cameras. Have you done a comparison with with WDR vs CLOG in both the C100 & C100MII? I have had C100s for most of my work over the past few years and recently picked up the C100MII and the MII is what the C100 originally should have been. I shoot in WDR almost exclusively but recently just started exploring the CLOG option. I thought you might be a good resource for this so any insight you might have please pass along. Your reviews over the past few years have been awesome and I really appreciate the time you put into them!
