Aputure DEC LensRegain Focal Reducer Shows Impressive Performance
Very impressive performance from the Aputure DEC LensRegain adapter. This is essentially Aputure’s version of the Speedbooster. For now the LensRegain is only available for Micro Four Third mount cameras. Hopefully a APS-C version is in the works too.
I will be heading over to visit Aputure at NAB and will have a LIVE Facebook Stream with some of the new products. Make sure to like my page!
It’s not available just yet but CheesyCam believes pricing is around $500.
In this test by CheesyCam you can see that the image is very good and I can only see a slight differences at the pixel peeping level.
One feature I felt needed some attention was how the adapter made it hard to mount the camera on some mounts. They fixed this by adding a 1/4 20 to the bottom of the adapter for camera plates. Nicely done!
Main Features:
1. Designed for MFT Mount Cameras and Canon EF Lenses
2. Magnification of 0.75x
3. Increase an Additional Stop of Light, T-Stop Display
4. 4 Element 4 Group Optical Element, Seven Layers Anti-Reflective Coatings
5. Enhanced Performance on MTF
6. Wireless Remote Focus and Aperture
7. Solid Metal Build Quality, 1/4 mount
8. Separate Extended Cable and Bracket
The LensRegain also has the wireless focus and aperture feature just like the original DEC does so that makes this a very good bargain. I have the E-Mount to EF DEC adapter and I like it alot.
