Behind The Scenes Shooting My Course At Lynda.com

September 29, 20161 Comment

I had a blast shooting my new Lynda.com LinkedIn Learning course called “What Video Camera Should I Buy?”

I spent five days at the studios located in Carpentaria Ca. The crew was great and made me feel very comfortable. I do a lot of videos for my blog and Youtube channel but I shoot myself and no one is around when I do them. It’s just me and the camera.

Not the case at Lynda.com! I had Scott the director who also shoots the videos and does audio too. Hmm Audio.. Yeah he does have a certain way of putting the mic on. LOL.

Rose was my producer keeping us on point and did a fabulous job. Matthew wore a few hats from updating the copy and running the prompter

to helping with set ups and media management. A really great team of pros!

About that teleprompter. I’m not used to read one and it takes some getting used to. I felt by day 5 I had a good rhythm going and wish I could start over again. Okay well maybe not all over again.

Here’s Rose getting the script updated. We did this a lot. Always trying to get it a little bit better.

We covered a lot of diffrent topics that help you find the right camera for your productions. Heres Scott getting a bunch of shots of my FS7. Lynda.com uses the C300 and the C300 MKII as the main studio cameras. They look great.

I love the 70-200 Canon f2.8. Looks nice on my FS7 too. A new addition is the SmallRig rial ,out. It’s great. Small and light weight.

The studios are pretty good sized and can be changed in a number of diffrent configurations depending on what they are shooting. My set was the “Erik’s Camera Cave” I loved it!

This is my favorite picture! The best team EVER!

I really enjoyed my experience producing and shooting this course with lynda.com / LinkedIn Learning. The good news is I’m working on two more courses! How cool is that.
