GoPo “Karma” Drone Recalled Due To Power Loss During Operation
“The recall was announced after we discovered that in a small number of cases, Karma units lost power during operation. We are investigating the issue and working in close coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration.”
Wow! Thats really bad news for GoPro to have to recall 2500 of the highly anticipated Karma drones but it also surprises me they only sold 2500. This number seems very low.
As of today if you have one you are asked to return it for a full refund. You must include all accessories as well as the GoPro HERO5 and Karma Grip. You don’t need to provide the receipt to get the full refund.
“We are recalling all Karma units and providing a full refund. We are investigating the issue and plan to make Karma available once it has been resolved.”
If you already own Karma, follow these instructions to return your product for a full refund.

This is really bad news for GoPro. The DJI Mavic is now shipping with lots of orders to be filled by December. GoPro will miss the holiday buying season swell and I think the timing of the release was based around heavy Christmas sales.
