Yi Rolls Out 4K+. Worlds First 4K 60p Action Camera. Is This The GoPro Killer?
Yi rolls out the worlds first 4K 60p action camera at CES and it looks like a very competitive camera for sure! Lookout GoPro Yi is on a developing tear with the 4K+. The new camera also records at 180 bitrate helping achieve a much more detailed image. This is an important feature since many action and small cameras shoot at a much lower bitrate and produces mushy images in moving objects also subjects with a lot of detail like grass or hair tend to loose a lot of detail. Yi also added RAW photo capture to the 4K+.
The Yi 4K+ looks like a great alternative to the GoPro HERO 5 and has many of it’s features like voice command and touch screen. The YI 4K+ electronic image stabilization (EIS) and can live stream so you can go live where the action is happening and share it with your friends as well as VR support.
Pricing and availability wasn’t announced at CES, but i’m sure it will be priced lower than the Hero5 Black. Yi is still working on the final version and hopes it will be ready in a few weeks. You can purchase the 4K+ on Amazon.
Here is a live Facebook stream with Yi’s Evan from CES showing the new 4K+ 60p Action Camera.
