If you’ve spent any time around a smoker, you’ve probably heard of Meat Church. The Texas-born BBQ brand built its reputation the hard way — one brisket, one rack of ribs, and one obsessive pitmaster at a time. Now, their legendary rubs and seasonings have made it to Walmart shelves and Walmart.com, putting serious backyard BBQ flavor within reach for just about everyone. I’ve been abusing Blanco lately as it’s so versatile on veggies as well as meats.
A Little Background on Meat Church
Meat Church was founded by Matt Pittman out of Waxahachie, Texas — about 30 miles south of Dallas. A former corporate tech executive, Pittman traded in the suit for a smoker after one transcendent bite of Central Texas brisket changed the trajectory of his life. He launched the brand in 2014, running it out of his house with two rubs and a whole lot of conviction. It grew into a cult following, a flagship retail store in downtown Waxahachie, and eventually a seat at the table as the Official Pitmaster of the Dallas Cowboys. The man knows his smoke.
What You’ll Find at Walmart
Meat Church products are available on Walmart.com and in select Walmart store locations. The lineup covers a solid range of their most popular rubs and seasonings, including:
- Holy Gospel BBQ Rub — Their all-purpose crowd-pleaser. Works on everything from pork butts to chicken thighs. This one gets used hard.
- Holy Cow BBQ Rub — A Texas-style beef rub built for brisket. Salt, pepper, and a little magic.
- Honey Hog BBQ Rub — Sweet with a kick. Perfect for ribs and pork.
- Blanco Seasoning — Marketed as a “steak and everything else” rub. That’s not an exaggeration.
- Dia de la Fajita — A Tex-Mex citrus blend that brings serious flavor to fajitas, chicken, or anything heading to the grill.
- Texas Chili Seasoning — For when the smoker takes a day off and the Dutch oven takes over.
- Gourmet Seasoning Salt (Season All) — An all-purpose shaker that earns its spot on every grill station.
Online or In-Store — Your Call
Shopping on Walmart.com is the easiest route to the full selection. Most rubs run in the $14–$15 range — comparable to buying direct, with the convenience of free shipping or curbside pickup if your store carries them.
In-store availability varies by location, so it’s worth checking before you make the trip. Meat Church also has their own store locator on their website if you want to find the nearest retailer carrying their products.
Why This Matters for Backyard Cooks
Meat Church built its name by producing rubs that actually work — not grocery store fillers designed to sit on a shelf for three years. Getting that caliber of seasoning through Walmart is genuinely good news for anyone who cooks outside. You no longer need to hunt down a specialty BBQ shop or wait on shipping to get your hands on the good stuff before a Saturday smoke session.
Whether you’re a seasoned pitmaster or someone who just bought their first Weber, Meat Church is a legitimate upgrade. And now it’s one aisle over from the charcoal.
