Traeger Stainless Steel XXL BBQ Spatula. The Tool You Didn’t Know You Needed

April 4, 20260 Comments

At first glance, you might think this thing is HUGE! and you are correct. Why on earth would I need a giant spatula if I have tongs and a normal-sized spatula? I felt the same way until I bought one and used it.

What a title! It’s as big as the tool. The Traeger XXL spatula is a new tool I didn’t know I needed. I saw it in a video and said, I have to get one! and I’m very happy with it. Having such a large surface makes it easy to scoop up larger cuts, and the beveled edges slide under anything you want to transfer with ease. The spatula’s back is raised so the meat won’t slide toward the handle. With a big, heavy piece of protein, you dont want it sliding onto the handle.

Using tongs to pick up tender, cooked, larger meats like a Spatchcock chicken or a pork butt is so much easier, and, as I mentioned, tender, cooked meats can fall apart if you use tongs. I mostly use two togs and attack it from both sides. Not anymore. Now it’s a one-handed fast way to transfer that protein from the grill.

  • Stainless steel construction for durability.
  • Beveled edge for easy flipping.
  • Dishwasher safe with strong handle.
  • Convenient loop for hanging.

Traeger updated the spatula in 2025 with a new handle, replacing the wood with a composite that is much more durable. The overall design is the same. It’s now even more dishwasher-safe.

The 2025 Traeger BAC793 Stainless Steel XXL BBQ Spatula features an updated, highly durable construction with a dishwasher-safe handle, making cleanup easier than on older models. It remains a 17-inch-long, heavy-duty tool with a 6×10-inch surface, designed for lifting large cuts of meat like brisket, featuring a beveled edge for easy flipping and a hanging loop.

The design is nice with all three sides tapering to make sliding from the front or the sides smooth. Since it’s so dang big, you can use it to smash burgers, too.

While it’s XXL, it’s also a bit XXL in cost. At $40, with the 11% discount, it’s still on the pricy side, but it’s built like a tank. Hefty and will last many years. This one is worth the price.
