DJI’s Pocket 4P Pro Is Coming — And It Looks Seriously Different

As of May 8, 2026, DJI has officially teased the imminent global release of its next-generation handheld powerhouse, the Osmo Pocket 4. While the standard Pocket 4 debuted in several regions on April 16, 2026, recent announcements and leaks point toward the high-end Pocket 4 Pro (often referred to as the 4P) arriving as early as late May or June 2026.

The Game Changer: Dual-Lens and 3x Optical Zoom

The most significant shift for the “Pro” variant is the rumored transition to a dual-lens camera system. Unlike previous models that relied on digital cropping, the Pocket 4 Pro is expected to feature:

  • Primary Lens: A 1-inch CMOS sensor with a fast aperture for elite low-light performance.
  • Secondary Lens: A 3x optical telephoto lens, allowing creators to switch focal lengths physically without losing image quality.

Rumored & Confirmed Specifications

Based on recent leaks and official documentation from the standard model’s rollout, here is what to expect from the Pocket 4 series:

Availability & US Market Context

Here’s the wrinkle for American buyers. DJI was added to the FCC’s Covered List in December 2025, which bars new DJI devices from receiving US certification after that date. The standard Pocket 4 filed for FCC approval before the cutoff but is not available in the US. The Pocket 4 Pro has no FCC filing on record, meaning official US retail availability is currently off the table. European and Asian markets are expected to receive the camera without restriction. In other markets, the standard model is retailing for approximately $499–$599, with the Pro expected to command a premium at around $699–$749.

I have the Pocket 3, and it’s a fun and useful tool that I have used at work and will be again in June for a studio tour promo. It’s so small and lightweight, and the image quality is very good. The integration with the DJI mic is another big plus. Is it worth upgrading? I think I would be more interested in the Pocket 4P as it has that extra lens, making it even more versatile. I hope DJI and the FCC can come to a solution to get these for sale in the US soon.
