Not a big update but worth staying current. You can download it HERE. I’ve had a quirk when using the EVF. Sometimes it just doesn’t turn on when looking into it. The update seems to have fixed that from what I can tell. The main fix is for when the camera will not power-on after making certain setting changes. I haven’t experience this before.
What Does This Do?
This utility updates the camera system software to version 1.01, and provides the following benefits:
- Improves a condition where the camera will not power-on after making certain setting changes
- Improves overall stability of the camera
All in all I’m pretty happy with the a6500. The overheating and shutting down issue that I had with the a6300 is no longer an issue with the new menu option to be able to shoot while the camera gest hot. It still overheats with a warning just doesn’t shutdown anymore, but it’s winter and the temperatures are cool right now. Hopefully in summer on a warm day I can still shoot in 4K and take pictures without issues.
