I've spent 40 years in broadcasting. I started my career in 1986 at KERO in Bakersfield, California, as a photojournalist — shooting, editing, and producing news under daily deadlines in competitive local markets. From Bakersfield, I worked my way through several newsrooms, eventually reaching Washington, D.C. That career took me into commercial production as a cinematographer, editor, and producer, earning me 18 Emmy Awards and 3 Telly Awards along the way. Five years ago, I became a part-owner of Newsshooter.com, one of the leading publications covering the professional filmmaking industry. I know what rigorous editorial coverage looks like — and what it takes to build an audience that trusts what you publish.
