Matthews Grip Starts Kickstarter for Smartphone Rig. The MSE ROVER Cage

If you want to get really serious with shooting video with your smartphone then MSE Grip has the cage for you and is now a Kickstarter Campaign.

The Rover Cage is loaded with 16 different points of adjustability. Using the industry standard ¼-20 screw mounts for customizing and accessorizing the rig for practically any situation. Add MSE Microgrip hardware and mount Rover to rails, windows, trees, cars, almost anywhere.

It looks really helpful for shooting video and timelapse footage. If you ever tried to do just a little more than shoot with a selfie stick it gets difficult. I tried the iOgrapher with mixed results. This takes it to the next level but at a cost. It isn’t cheap, but it’s also made by one the best grip equipment manufacturers in the world.

Matthews Studio Equipment has been building grip and camera equipment in Burbank CA for almost 50 years. During that time we have become a production staple on Hollywood sound stages and set locations worldwide. As the market has evolved. With the Rover MSE is expanding into a new market of supporting consumer level camera technology.

Check out the Kickstarter introduction video below.

I played with the prototype at NAB 2016 and was wondering when I would see it. Well it looks like March/April is when. I might have to get in on this one myself.
