Canon Cinema Prime Lenses Arrived Today

Me with a couple of Canon Cinema Primes

Today I got a package from Canon. Two Canon Cinema Primes! Thanks to Terry Nixon from Texas Media Systems for arranging this for me. Terry your awesome! So now what? Well I’m going to play around a bit with these fine prime lenses and see how they work. First impression is wow! The mechanics are very nice. The focus is silky smooth and they are lighter than I thought they would be but solid. I haven’t had a chance to put them on my camera yet because I’m slammed with editing but tonight I will.

My plan is to shoot a couple of things. One is fireworks on the 4th.of July with both the C100 and the C300. Wide with 24 and tighter with the 85mm to get some cool bokeh out of focus shots. This should be fun. Im setting up another shoot as well but it’s not finalized yet. If I can get a chart I will but I’m not really into shooting charts that much but I’m sure many would like to see this so if I can I will. A week sounds like a long time but I have a day job I have to go to Monday – Friday. That’s the plan as of now. This should be a fun hands on review.

The review is done! Check it out HERE.

  1. Dare I say… wow! Amazing glass.
Can’t wait to see the C100/300+CC footage you come up with.
I’ve used the CC Primes line a few times (particularly the 85mm) but I don’t own them… did you buy them?

  2. I recently purchased the C100 camera. Awesome! Cant wait to get those prime lenses. I dream of them everyday. Keep up the good work.
